CANOPY

THE STRAIGHT BEAM
The standard straight beam canopy is available in 4’ to 8’ extension. The canopy is mounted on the sidewall and follows the slope of the roof. Straight beam canopies cannot be applied below eave. The canopy forms a harmonious unbroken line from the peak providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

THE TAPERED BEAM CANOPY
The tapered beam canopy is more versatile and functional, offered in 8’ to 12’ extension. It has the capability of attaching side wall and end wall at or below eave. It is also available with or without soffit panel.

STANDARD PARTTION WALL
Partitions may be “Transverse” (parallel to building main frames) or “Longitudinal” (perpendicular to building main frames). Standard partitions shall be sheeted on one side only. Sheeting on both side are optional and if required it can be specified on the ASBS project proposal. Standard partition sheeting and flashing consists of 0.47 mm thick of available color. Base angle will be placed at the bottom of the partition wall. Partitions may be used in conjunctions with building wall or ceiling inner panel.

JACK BEAM
A primary horizontal member used to support another beam or rafter to avoid middle column of the supported beam. It is used in same buildings for getting required clear space for special purpose i.e. for special machine arrangement, movement of crane etc. This kind of arrangement sometimes needed in spinning mills, cold storage units etc.

STEEL COLUMN TO SIDE BRICK WALL
When brick wall is placed as building covering and simultaneously steel column as building main column, it will not be permitted to form any type of bonding between them. Due to elastic characteristic, a steel building will react with wind thrust, earth quake etc and as a result it will transfer the force to the sidewall and create crack on it if they are attached.

BIULDING FASCIAS

VERTICAL PROJECTION, PARAPET AND DOWN PROJECTION FASCIA
ASBS offers vertical fascias attached to the side and end wall called parapet fascias, vertical fascias having projection from the side and end wall called vertical projection fascias and down projection fascias to achieve a variety of distinctive designs with modern accents. Fascias are available in 3’, 4’, or 6’ heights (considering building pick). The projection of all vertical fascias is 12”. The vertical fascias shall be provided to hide the building pick.

EAVE AND RAKE EXTENSION
For continuation of the main building roof slope to match it down projection fascias, roof (at eave) shall be extended beyond the defined width of the building. Roof extension shall be constructed with a tapered beam consist of roof purlin. Standard minimum extension is 3’. Unlike the rake extension, soffit panel is optional to enclose the roof extension at eave. If soffit panel is applied, it should be mentioned in the order from earlier. Gutters are applied at the end of the extension. To connect the down pipe with the gutters, an elbow is used in such case. The standard rake is an extension of the roof purlin system and therefore follows the profile of the main building roofline.

MEZZANINE FLOOR
A “Mezzanine Floor” as recognized by ASBS, is an intermediate level of floor system between the existing floor and the ceiling usually occupying partial or full area of floor space. This type of mezzanine floor can be used for various purposes as office space, warehouse, garments and factories as per the requirements of the clients. Mezzanine floor must be designed according to the imposed loads on the floor which should be confirmed by the client before calculation. Mezzanine floor consists of intermediate steel columns, main beams and tie beams, high tensile strength profiled steel deck panels ( steel deck sheet shall be used for shuttering purpose only, this has no load bearing capacity) placed at the top of steel beams.

STEEL STAIRS
ASBS offers pre fabricated steel staircase to provide a firm and rigid construction. The stair stringers are detailed in such a way that different stair treads such as checkered plate, grating and concrete filled treads can be accommodated easily. We have different staircase system options to fulfill your need. These are single flight or double flight stairs with required number of landing ports. ASBS standard stair case stringers and post shall be built up welded “I” beam sections. Standard sizes are for single flight 4ft and double flight 3.5ft width along with 4ft x 4ft and 8ft x 4ft landing port size respectively.

CRANE SYSTEM
ASBS supply factory standard crane system that consists of crane runway beams and column brackets that support required crane system. ASBS will design column bracket and crane beams as per required crane capacity. Crane, crane girder and rails are not in our scope.

WALK DOOR
Walk door consists of built up or hot rolled section framing along with necessary opening structure and is covered with galvanized or color coated steel sheet following with necessary trim, swing type.

SKYLIGHT
Standard translucent light panels have same configuration of auto-rib-6 steel panel and are made of glass fiber reinforced composite panel of thermosetting polyester resin with acrylic modifiers and UV inhibitors. The translucent panels are not designed for foot traffic.

ACCENT WINDOW
Contemporary full-length bronze aluminum accent tempered, tinted glass or normal glass windows are available in a 2’x7’ dimension. Trim and panel color is bronze baked on enamel finish.

WINDOW
Screened horizontal sliding anodized aluminum section windows are offered for the window framing. Window dimension is either 3’x5’ or 3’x7’ and self-flashing. Optional steel security grill can be fixed with this.

FRAMED OPENING
Framed openings can be ordered in any designed size. The size requested should be the clear opening required for the door, window or louver. In steel building, all types of opening should have its own outer frame to customize the requirements. In this picture a special type of opening has been in a building of poultry feed manufacturing unit. Through this opening discharge of the finished products are taken away.

SLIDING DOOR
Sliding door generally supplied by ASBS along with sliding wheel on floor-mounted track and top of the door shall be guided by clamp attached with a channel to protect or guide the door on floor track. The main door frame should be made of “C” channel of steel plate and covered both the sides by color coated sheets. Front face of door shall be made of profiled panel sheets matched with exterior sheeting colors. Inside face is made of plain sheets.

BUILDING INSULSTION SYSTEM

FIBRE GLASS INSULATION
We offer Insulation specially designed for using in metal building roof and wall to satisfy thermal requirements needed in most pre-engineered buildings. Insulation material shall be grade- 1, 25 to 150 mm thick and weighting 10-16 kg/m3 fiber glass.

TARPOLL RADIENT BARIER TYPE INSULATION (A NEW GENERATION INSULATION)
There are three basic modes of heat transfer: condition, convention and radiation. The sun heats up the tiles, brick and board of a building. This occurrence radiates heat into the building. The invisible infrared radiant heat rays can penetrate roofs, ceilings, wall, doors, floors and other materials. Nearly 87 – 88% of the total building heat is transferred through this radiation and then is balanced by conduction and convection. In this regard, radiation is the most powerful cause of heat gain and loss in any building. Conventional insulation protects such as fiberglass, mineral wool, foam board, cellulose etc. are effective against conduction and convention. However, they have no effect on “radiant” heat transfer. They work by tapping small air pockets and reduce heat transfer rate by conduction. The trapped air heats up and radiates this heat later into the building, sometimes for hours after sunset. Aluminum foils blocks 95% of heat radiation which is an ideal energy conversion material. An easy, effective and low cost solution of preventing the passage of radiant energy or solar heat into building is the use of foil radiant barrier to reflect heat back to its source.

PE FOAM PASTED TYPE
Non cross linked PE (Poly Ethylene) foams are formed with innumerable cells expanded by 15-40 times. Our PE foam materials are shock absorbing, vapor proofing, temperature-insulating, strong chemical resisting and possessing easy handing characteristics and have been used for civil construction as well as in the fields of agriculture, plumbing and many other applications with excellent result.

PU FOAM PASTRED TYPE
Usually the backside of the roof sheet will be pasted with PU foam while forming. An extra layer of PE sheet will be placed bellow the foam to keep uniformity, finish, and extra heat resisting capacity. The total thickness of the foam is 25 mm.

HEAT SHIELD ALUMINIUM FOIL WITH AIR BUBBLE
This is normal radiant barrier type insulation but having aluminum foil at two sides and a packet of air bubble in the middle. Therefore its thermal transmission (U & K-value) is higher than other conventional insulation materials.

BUILDING VENTILATION SYSTEMS

ROUND GRAVITY VFENTILATOR
Round Gravity ventilator shall have bird screen, interior baffles, and exterior wind bands designed to provide maximum airflow. Round ventilators are furnished with dampers at a special order. Damper shall be spring- loaded butterfly type and operated by a standard pull chain. It’s a natural type of opening.

NATURAL TURBINE ROUND VENTILATOR
Turbine ventilator is operated by utilizing the dynamic energy of the wind to induce airflow by centrifugal action. The centrifugal force caused by the turbine vanes creates a region of low – pressure area which extracts air out through the turbine. Air drawn out by the turbine is continuously replaced by fresh air from the outside. The slightest breeze will cause the turbine to spin and even after the breeze has stopped; it will use its stored energy to continue air ventilation. Suction is maintained even at low wind velocities.

SECTION PROCEDURE
    1) Determine volume of space to be ventilated (cft) = L x W x H
        Where L =  Length, W = Width, H = Height of building
    2) Select air change rate from table A
    3) Calculate required ventilation rate,
                   Q (cfm) = Volume (cft) x Air Change Rate (N)

Example:
Building dimensions with L = 100 ft, W = 60 ft, H = 20 ft, volume (cft) = 1, 20,000 cft, air change rate selected = 12 per hour

Ventilation rate, Q = 120000 x 12 = 24,000 cfm

FORCE VENTILATOR
Exhaust fans are used to blow out unwanted gases and reduce heat from inner side of the building. It will be covered with a bird protected net.

GRAVITY RIDGE VENTILATOR
Ridge ventilators supplied by ASBS are of a low profile design to control inside temperature of a building by passing inner hot air through it by means of natural law, that hot air go upward and cool air take that position. Each unit contains flashing for either single or continuous run installation which one is specified on the sketch of the order document. Vents are available in 10 ft length and 300 mm or 600-mm throat in standard finish and matched with roof color. Gravity ridge vents are designed to allow free airflow. Bird screen is attached with it.

WALL MOUNTED VENTILATOR
This is a conventional exhaust fan but having motor with higher rpm and greater air flow with the advance design of the fan blades. Normally it is used on walls of the garments factories, restaurants etc. It is very effective in the lower floors of multistoried buildings where roof ventilations can not be placed. It may also be used along with cooling pad on the opposite wall of the building to get higher cooling effect and better working environment in the building.

ROOF MONITOR
ASBS provides roof monitor for proper ventilation facilities for industrial building or any others where they are required. Roof monitor is a pre-engineered steel structure framing system which consists of steel columns, rafters and all secondary members. Columns of roof monitor are supported on top of main rafter with necessary plates, cleats, nuts, bolts and other accessories.

LOUVER
A complete line of galvalume and aluminum or color coated galvanized steel louvers are available in various sizes. Overlapped fixed blades allow maximum airflow. A necessary bird protection screen will be supplied as an additional requirement.
